| About Focus and Flow Focus and Flow represents a powerful integration of: (1) my diverse professional activities as a psychotherapist, professor, and consultant, (2) my passion for both sports and the performing arts, and (3) my strong personal and spiritual beliefs about the ability of all of us to utilize our strengths and gifts as contributions to the transformation of our world. I've been implementing Focus and Flow strategies with my students, clients, and people in my social networks for nearly 25 years. With Focus and Flow, I am bringing all of that together in the form of systematic programs, coaching and consultation strategies to help people on a broader scale. "Focus and Flow" provides workshops, individualized consultation, virtual services, and will be launching a CD/MP3 program for young and early career athletes, performing artists, writers, speakers, and students "who aspire to their highest and best". The services are designed to help you "do what you do" better and to your highest potential utilizing cognitive techniques, meditation, stress management, and positive life coaching. As a licensed psychologist, psychotherapist, and university professor with nearly 25 years of experience helping, healing, mentoring, and uplifting others, my approach is informed by applications from neuroscience, positive psychology, transpersonal psychology, and narrative psychology; as well as by my wealth of professional and life experiences. My original two programs, "Get Your Mind Right"™, and "Empowering Your Mind - Energizing Your Soul"™ are comprehensive, research-based, and emerge from my experiences: (1) teaching meditation and visualization to an elite youth basketball team based in urban Los Angeles, (2) as an effective speaker, trainer, and popular professor, (3) designing and evaluating curriculum and programs, (4) more than 20 years providing psychotherapy to a diverse clientele in Los Angeles, and (5) forming and directing a dance company, as well as performance and choreography in dance concerts and musical theater in my youth. In our current economy and with the change that is needed in our world, none of us can afford to be mediocre. We must all strive to be our best, as well as to live positively and optimally. Focus and Flow seeks to contribute to the evolution of our world one person, one team, and one performance at a time. |
